Boat
Corona project
We received the message that it was not safe to travel, so my family and I stayed in Holland for the vacation. Unable to stay still for so long, a friend and I discussed our shared love for hands-on projects, and that's when we decided on our 'corona project.' Our journey began with a search for a trailer, which eventually led us to this wooden boat in Friesland both in need of care, but full of potential.
We began by removing the layer of tar from the bottom and sanding the outer layer of wood. Next, we replaced the old fins with new wooden ones and coated the bottom with epoxy and fiberglass mats. Once dry, we turned the boat around to focus on the interior.
Inside, we crafted a wooden box to cover the motor, sanded the boat's interior, created a bench in the back, and constructed the steering console linked to the motor. Finally, we designed a sunbed for the front before sealing the edges with kit. After drying, we applied a primer and two coats of paint. With these finishing touches, the boat is now ready to hit the water.
